This version of Morris's Tree of Life is in a traditional green/blue red/neutral colourway. William Morris was born in Walthamstow , London in 1834-1896. Despite his ambition to be a painter and his later reputation as writer, poet, publisher, political thinker and activist, he is most widely known as a designer of patterns, in which he combines historical themes with floral patterns.
